12 volt LCD TV’s
12v Caravan TV have a range of High Quality 12 volt TFT LCD TV’s with screen sizes to suit most Caravans, Motorhomes, Boats and other mobile vehicles such as Horse Boxes and Trucks. All our 12 volt TV 's can be powered from both 12 volt DC and 230v AC (mains). They have been chosen for their build quality, features and performance. The most popular TV models are from the new Avtex range: W153D All-in-One and the W193D All in 1. Both these new models are available in a choice of colour, the traditional WHITE cabinet or a HIGH GLOSS BLACK one. The W193D is also HD ready and has two HDMI ports for connecting High Definition sources such HD Satellite or a Blue Ray player. The 10" Widescreen W102D 7 in 1 continues this year and for those who don't require a built-in DVD player there are the Avtex W102T 10" Widescreen and the Avtex W150T 15" 4:3 screen.
When comparing specialist 12 volt LCD TV’s to a standard domestic LCD TV there are many differences. In particular the low cost 15" sets are invariably P.C. Monitors with TV cards and some of the smaller sets can use reconditioned screens. The disadvantage’s of these sets is lower powered back lights, lower rise (refresh) rates, poorer quality screens and generally poorer build quality as they will have been manufactured to a price as opposed to a specification. This is important for this market as you are likely to subject the TV to a considerable amount of vibration and harshness whilst moving around compared to a purchase specifically for your home where it would usually be in one location and left there. The power of the back light is also important if like us you wish to watch the TV in the summer time, as well in low ambient light. The quality of the actual screens (viewing angle in particular as most of us sit either side of the 'van looking at the TV from an angle), the electronics and the software all make a difference to the picture quality as well. We choose our range based on these factors and the level of after sales support from suppliers to offer you what we believe to be the best overall value.

Satellite
12v Caravan TV can supply the popular LeisureSat free standing satellite dishes, in-line sat finder/meters and Satellite Digiboxes. We also have access to fitted manually operated dishes from Maxview and fully automatic satellite dishes from Alden, Camos Sat Dome and Oyster.
There are many variables when receiving Satellite TV in a Caravan or Motorhome and we have tried to cover the most Frequently Asked Questions in our Advice section. 12v Freeview
We have a compact 12v Freeview (DVB-T) receiver which is capable of being powered from 12 volts and mains. The Digital Terrestrial (Freeview) signal is now stronger than when first launched by OnDigital. You will invariably need a high gain directional aerial such as our PU4, but it is now possible to receive Freeview in a lot of popular leisure destinations.
The Government have now released details of the Analogue switch off which is going to be a phased programme running from 2008-2012. The first areas to go totally Digital are in the West (Cornwall, Devon, Wales, Cumbria).
Aerials
12v Caravan TV have searched through many suppliers products to find what we believe to be the ultimate TV Aerial for use in a leisure vehicle in our PU4. This has recently been complimented by the addition of the Avtex STH1000 suction mounted 12v powered antenna.

Battery Chargers
For those of us who like to wild camp or rally battery power is more important than ever before. Not only is the size of your battery bank important but also starting off with it fully charged can make such a difference. Most Caravans and Motorhomes are fitted as standard with a basic combined power supply/battery charger that is restricted to 13.8 volts. They can only charge the battery to approximately 75/80% of its capacity. In order to fully charge a battery you need an intelligent multi-stage charger capable of 14.4 volts. The C-TEK chargers are probably the best in the world and will not only fully charge your battery but also maintain it when it is charged.
