We have a Caravan ourselves consequently we not only have tecdhnical expertise in supplying 12v TV's but also nearly fifty years of camping and caravanning experience to be able to offer advice and guidance when required. The TV's we sell whilst primarilly aimed at Caravans and Motorcaravans are also suitable for other mobile/portable applications such as Motorhomes, Campervans, Horseboxes and Trucks.

Avtex 12v Caravan TVs

Throughout 2010 Avtex have completely revised thier models. The Top of the Range is the L185DR 18.5" Ultra Slim LED combined TV / DVD player. For the first time there is a large screen model without a DVD player. The L185TR, also 18.5" with an LED Backlit screen.

The W163DR is Avtex's most popular model. A 16" combination TV/DVD that also has a sister model without a DVD, the W163TR.

The smallest screen size in the Avtex range is a 10.1" model only available with a DVD, the W103D.

All the Avtex 12v LCD Caravan TVs can be powered from both 12 volt and mains electricity and Dual Analogue/Digital Freeview Tuners. The now familiar Avtex Quick Tune one button tuning system is now included in every model.

SATELLITE TV for Caravan s

Satellite Dishes are now quite common on Caravan sites. The extra channels and the Digital quality are a bonus but most Caravanners choose a Satellite Dish and Digibox due to the consistency afforded by them. The Satellites are 22,000 miles away above the equator consequently the signal is coming down to us at an anlge rather than from the horizon for Terrestrial Broadcasts. This means if you are camping in a valley or have an obstacle obscuring the Terrestrial signal you can usually receive a Satellite signal especially with a portable freestanding dish that can be moved and aimed around obstacles.

12v Caravan TV can supply a wide range of Satellite Dishes of which there are portable freestanding ones like our LeisureSat range and the popular Multimo ones and fitted dishes that require installation in /on the roof of your caravan. We generally find the portable satellite dishes are most popular with caravans and the fiited ones tend to be more popular with Motorhomes. We sell a range of other products to compliment your satellite dish like tripods to mount them on and in-line signal strenght meters to help you find the signal.

FREEVIEW TV in a Caravan

All the 12v TV's we sell at Caravan TV have the capability to receive FREEVIEW if you are in a reasonable signal strength area and have a high gain directional aerial. The best Aerial we have found is the PU4 flat grid Aerial that is pole mounted and high gain negating the requirement for a booster like most caravan aerials. The most popular method of mounting one is on a mast attached to the jockey wheel stem. We can also supply one of these if you require one. Avtex have introduced thier own STH1000 powered aerial with various mounting methods including a suction foot. You are likely to need an in-line meter / finder to help you align the aerial before tuning your Digital Freeview TV. We have different models to choose from in our Signal Strength Meters section.
